Everything was different in the beginning. Pure, simple, clean. A fresh canvas, waiting for paint. A piece of parchment waiting for text. A world waiting for life. In the beginning, thats how the world was...but was not intended to stay so. For the Creator had plans for this world. She knew it would one day flourish, and she was always right, for she was the Mother of All. But, you ask, who is this Creator? No one being could tell you the answer. No one has ever seen her; but you can feel her presence. For she is always there, watching. She is always there, blessing every being born onto her world, giving it life, and personality, and a future. She cannot be seen, but she is known.
This world, in the beginning, was full of nothingness. It was bare and cold, hovering in endless space. The Creator knew this world needed warmth and protection, so, she covered this bare earth in thick forests and towering mountains. There, she said, the world shall now be warm. Soon, however, the vegetation grew wild and out of control, and the Creator knew this would not be acceptable. So she unleashed raging fires to burn away the tangled forests, and clean up the spare vegetation. Yet, the fires were beginning to burn away all the vegetation, so she spilled rivers and lakes and oceans to tame those wild fires. In not long, the rivers began to flood over thier beds, so the Creator once again covered the world in plants and grasses, to absorb this water. And thus, the cycle we see today was born. The Creator knew she could not tend to this world forever, for there were other galaxies and far off places she needed to garnish with life. To watch this delicate cycle, she created many, many different species of animals. Some to take care of the earth, others to take care of the water, and others to take care of the fires. They shall care for this world, she said.
The greatest of these creatures she set upon the earth was the equine. Strong, fast, and intelligent, it was in thier hands that the Creator left her trust. And a wise choice it was. For millions of years, the tender cycle the Creator had made was maintained by the equines and each of thier elements. It was a peaceful, interdependant world in which each alliance trusted one another, respected thier weaknesses, and improved thier strengths.
The Creator knew that for a while, perhaps, the earth would be peaceful. Perhaps for a short while, before the equines discovered what power could do. Before they discovered that war, murder and lies would get them so much farther in life than trust ever would.
