An electric shivver ran down her spine, its currents shaking her barrel, as her de;icate flints carried her farther from the Forest's reaching branches. Her string pillars had only taken two strides from its leafy edge, and already her whole bodice longed for its gentle brushes, soft bark, and padded Earth underfoot. The femme shifted her gaze to the glimmering lake to her left, mostly where the Vanneau equines resided. Her chocolate gaze drifted to her right, the green jade morphed into small grains, where only Feus equines dared tread.
The fae tossed her tassels nervously, leaving the Forest was like leaving a friend who she had spent many years with. The Forest knew all her secrets, she held with it, a bond so tight that the most horrible Air equine could not snap. She had spent her second summer within its cradeling branches, and comforting leaf beds. After the vixen had left her brute and dam, she had been adopted by the broad trees of the woods, learning how to read prints, and understand signals the ancient trees and leaves gave her. She had an understanding of the many animals the dense bushes masked, she could talk to the Forest. It always
responded, it was her family now.
After three-beathing a few more choppy strides, the minx could take it no longer. Turning smoothly on her hind-pillars, she carried her golden bodice back to the forest at a fast lope. The beating sun on her pelt felt unusual after years in the dark canopy. The bright rays burned her orbs, a few purple spots blurred her vision before she managed to relocate into the shade. Her pelt was dark once more, not shining like a newly shined gold coin, and her muscles relaxed. The friendly vibes of the Oak trees near her lulled her into a mind-numbing phase. She felt totally at home wrapped in the long arms of her loving family. With a smile she flicked her banner to rid her rump of buzzing insects. A sigh escaped her kissers as her headed hide cooled in its protection from the ever-burning sun.
